Rousseau, a YouTube channel, creates artistic videos with a  reactive visualizer. The result is a mix between Rock Band (or Guitar Hero, depending on which camp you fall into) and a live piano concert.

Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata

A memorable piano piece that encourages many students to begin learning piano, the Moonlight Sonata is even more dynamic when you add light and smoke effects.

Movement 1

Movement 2

Movement 3

Of the Moonlight Sonata visualizations, movement 3 is our favorite. The rapid hand movements racing to catch up to the falling light give us heart palpitations just like Guitar Hero. While the tempo is a little off from a truly emotional performance (see second video below), this truly is a spectacular sight.

Beethoven – Für Elise

Bach – Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

Colloquially known as “Dracula’s Theme,” Toccata and Fugure gets a facelift with this visualization.

Pop Music

This YouTube channel doesn’t just visualize famous classical pieces. It also does a great job with pop music.

John Lennon – Imagine

Coldplay – Clocks

Other Great Piano Visualizations by Others

The Lord of the Rings – Main Theme

Pirates of the Caribbean – He’s a Pirate
